Fiorentina won 4-3 against AC Milan in a very entertaining game where seven goals were scored. Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored two in the second half to bring the Rossoneri back after 3-0 Fiorentina lead. In the end Vlahovic sealed the game with his second goal in 85’ min. before an own goal deep in the stoppage time by Venuti shaped the end result 4-3. AC Milan suffered first defeat in 208 days after 0-3 loss to Lazio on 26 April early this year and missed the opportunity to go at the top of Serie A after Napoli’s defeat to Inter.
AC Milan had horrible first half and losing only with two goal was the least that could had happened. The defense performance left a lot to be desired and ending with four goals just from one game was a troubling display. One “positive” for Stefano Pioli is that the mistakes for the three of the goals were individual and the overall defense didn’t look that bad and from the four changes Stefano Pioli made in his squad, three were in defense. The new names were Pierre Kalulu, Matteo Gabbia and Theo Hernandez with Alexis Saelemaekers on the wing.
Ibrahimovic scored in the fifth minute, but he was offside. In the 15th minute the hosts took the lead after a ridiculous mistake by Ciprian Tatarusanu. The goalkeeper caught a crossed ball from a corner, then immediately dropped it, and Duncan took advantage and got it in for 1-0. In the 17th minute, Callejón crossed and Vlahović headed the ball over the door. In the 21st minute Sandro Tonali fired a long shot, which was deflected by Terracciano. In the 37th minute Giacomo Bonaventura shot from distance, but did not find the target. In the first half added time, Saponara shocked his former team with an incredible technical kick from the edge of the penalty area for 2-0.
In the 53rd, Leoo made a precise shot that went very close past the post. In the 60th Duncan found Vlahovic with great pass, the striker bypassed Tatarusanu and sent the ball into his empty net for 3-0. Just two minutes later, Ibrahimovic returned a goal for the Rossoneri after a pass from Bonaventure and with immediate shot found the Fiorentina goalkeeper unprepared. In the 67th minute, the 40-year-old veteran scored his second goal of the match, taking advantage of a good assist by Theo Hernandez. In the 85th minute, Hernandez allowed the reserve Nicolas Gonzalez to take the ball from him on the edge of the penalty area, after which Vlahovic was left to score for 4-2 with his second goal of the evening. The final result was formed in the last seconds of added time. Ibrahimovic hit a header, the ball bounced first at the crossbar and then at Venuti to find the net for 4-3.
Due to their loss,AC Milan remains in second place in the standings with 32 points, same as the leader Napoli who after the clash with Inter had first loss for the season too. Fiorentina climbed to the sixth position with 21 points between the fifth Lazio and the seventh Juventus.
